Watch a recording of the live event on Youtube

Thank you for your visit to DOD and we will be grateful for feedback after watching .
Facebook event
When did it take place? 5. 2. 2021

Program

13: 00–13: 55 Video presentation about the possibilities of studying at FI MU - will be presented by prof. Jiří Barnat, Vice-Dean for Study Programs. For example, you will learn: What makes FI MU specific? What programs can be studied here ? What are the possibilities of practice ? What to watch out for during your studies? How to apply ? What are the possibilities of admission without entrance exams ? What are your options? application ?

13: 55–14: 15 Questions and answers - ask about study and life at FI MU. Jiří Barnat, Jana Zemanová from the study department and a student representative will answer Nordic Game Friends Association .

14: 15–15: 45 Presentation of seven of the 21 faculty laboratories

Joint presentation: Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory (HCILAB) and Visualization Laboratory (VisIt Lab)

Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory ( HCILAB ) is dedicated to the research of human - computer user interfaces, especially to the research of modern methods of interaction and virtual and augmented reality. Current research projects include, for example, multi-user collaboration and teaching opportunities in immersive virtual reality. We also deal with the development of computer games, especially the application of modern computer graphics techniques in games.
Visualization laboratory ( VisIt Lab ) focuses on basic and applied research in the field of complex data visualizations, their visual analysis, computer graphics and their relationship to the virtual environment and graphic design. He is currently working on projects in the areas of molecular, security, geographic and medical visualization, for example.

Center for Biomedical Image Analysis (CBIA)

What can you learn about digital image processing at FI? How can a corrupted image or video be repaired? How can we use mathematics to usefully depict such properties of an image that are otherwise incomprehensible to man? How does image and video compression work? CBIA Group brings together experts in computer science, mathematics and physics, but also biology and medicine, who monitor cell behavior, which is used, for example, for the correct diagnosis and treatment of diseases and research into the effectiveness of drugs.

Laboratory of Software Architectures and Information Systems (Lasaris)

The future of all in their own hands. Does that sound nice? Scary? Too unrealistic? Then no! In the lab Lasaris we conduct research on smart cities, smart buildings and networks, cybersecurity, IoT and many other industries that shape the future of each of us. We deal mainly with critical infrastructures, the non-functioning of which could cause great damage. One way to attack such infrastructure is to attack from within the organization. Come and see what such an attack might look like and find out more about our laboratory!

LEMMA: Laboratory of Electronic Multimedia Applications

IN LEMMA we develop applications and technologies for processing large data collections, including multimedia (digital libraries, film production and post-production). LEMMA is a playground where various fields intersect and projects for practice are created, in three areas: information retrieval (in digital libraries such as arXiv, etc.), machine learning methods (recognition by walking), production of multimedia content (tradition of film festivals, festival.fi.muni.cz ).

Graphic Design and Multimedia Studio (AGD + M)

Graphic design and multimedia studio provides interdisciplinary education in the field of graphic design, focuses primarily on digital media. He deals with topics such as generative design programming, creation of applications for interactive media, animation, videos, 3D digital modeling and 3D printing, e-publishing, web design, font creation, game creation and interactive information graphics.

Laboratory of Design and Architecture of Digital Systems (EmLab)

In the lab EmLab Laboratory Not only our teachers and students, but also robots or drones are waiting for you. You will learn how electronics are designed, programmed and controlled in such devices. You will also find out how neutrons and gamma rays are detected in a common environment and in the vicinity of facilities working with nuclear materials, and what EmLab members work with nuclear scientists. The laboratory is equipped with measuring technology and contemporary technical and software tools for the application of programmable gate arrays (FPGA type circuits), single-chip microprocessors and processors for digital analog signal processing (DSP type circuits). It focuses on the study, development and application of so-called embedded systems (unique single-purpose applications).

A record will be made of the event in MS-Teams. By active non-anonymous participation, you agree to the record.
