Visitlab focuses on basic and applied research in the field of visualization and visual analysis and their relation to various scientific disciplines. One of our central areas of interest is the design of visual representations for a variety of application domains, in particular biochemistry, security, geography, education, medicine, software development, and others. We also focus on combining visualizations with virtual reality, graphic design, and art. The lab always welcomes ideas for new application domains and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Visitlab has long-standing collaborations with other visualization groups at TU Wien, University of Bergen, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences. Students involved in the activities of our lab will gain a deeper understanding of visualization research and can take advantage of internship opportunities in these visualization groups abroad. Visitlab welcomes students at all levels of study: bachelor, master, as well as doctoral.
