Mount a Unix home directory
On student and departmental machines with Windows, the Unix home directory is from
home.fi.muni.cz
connects automatically as a network drive available under the letter J :, for a similar connection to an employee machine with a fixed faculty IP address it is necessary to do the following:
- Press
Win + E
to open a File Explorer window. - Choose This PC (or Computer in Windows 7) from the left side of the window
- On the Computer tab, click the Map Network Drive button in the ribbon menu, and then select Map network drive from the popup menu (or just select Map Network Drive on the toolbar in Windows 7)
- Change the Drive letter (or you can leave the default)
- Type
\\home.fi.muni.cz\your_login
as Folder - Select Reconnect at logon if you want to automatically restore the connection every time you (start the computer and) log on
- Select Connect using different credentials
- Press Finish
- Type
ntfi\your_login
as User name , fill in your password and pressOK
The directory can be mounted analogously
/data/your_login
as
\\home.fi.muni.cz\data-your_login
