Databases at FI

We provide 3 types of relational databases to FI users - PostgreSQL, MariaDB (formerly MySQL) and Oracle. All databases run on the machine db.fi.muni.cz, users can create accounts in the databases using the application in the Faculty Administration. Further instructions on how to connect to the databases can be found there.

On request, we can create a dedicated database/schema (in PostgreSQL or MariaDB) with a non-personal access account for official projects.

Databases are backed up once a day, and we keep backups for approximately one month.
