Red Diploma
The conditions for obtaining the so-called red diploma, or "passed with distinction", are regulated in Article 26(4) of the Study and Examination Regulations:
The overall result of a properly completed study is "passed with distinction" if the following conditions are met:
- all the components of the state examination have been passed in due time with a grade of 'excellent' or 'very good' and 'good',
- the overall result of the State examination is 'excellent' or 'very good',
- the average classification in the studies referred to in Article 17(2) does not exceed 1.5,
- the student has not been graded 'unsatisfactory' in any of the subjects graded,
- the student has been graded 'satisfactory' or 'satisfactory' no more than twice in the course of study,
- the student has obtained no more than one third of the credits in the course of study in question by recognition from previous or concurrent study or by recording a previous failure,
- the student has made use of the option of allowing non-repetition of courses under Article 20(3) to a maximum total of one twentieth of the minimum credit value.
The provisions of Article 26(4)(f) and (g) will be applied for the first time to studies commenced in the autumn term 2017.
