Remission of entrance exams

Remission of the entrance exams into follow-up master's degree may be requested by an applicant who has successfully completed a bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields or is a student of the last year of a bachelor's degree programme in computer science or related fields. At the same time, the applicant must have a study average for the entire bachelor's degree not exceeding 2.00 (according to the grading scale corresponding to the ECTS principles used at MU, in the case of a different grading scale it is necessary to contact the study office of the Faculty of Informatics MU) or must belong to the fiftieth percentile of your study program. Remission of the admission exams to the master's degree programmes may also be requested by an applicant who has successfully completed master's degree in computer science or related fields, or if he/she is a student of the last year of a master's programme in computer science or related fields (in this case, there are no requirements for study average). The affinity of the field will be assessed after submission of the application.

The possibility of remission of the entrance exam does not apply to applicants who have already been enrolled for master study at the Faculty of Informatics MU.

An applicant asking for a remission of the entrance exam will send a written request to the Study office so that it is delivered by the end of the application deadline at latest.

  1. Remission of the entrance exam on the basis of the bachelor's degree, the applicant will enclose the list of passed courses in the bachelor's study together with the obtained average of the study issued by the respective higher education institution (it is possible to prove also achieved percentile). If an applicant has already completed a bachelor's degree, the list of courses must be issued after the graduation. If an applicant is a student of the last year of the relevant study, the list of courses must be issued not earlier than 3 months before the date of the entrance exams.
  2. Remission of the entrance exam on the basis of a master's degree, the applicant will enclose the lists of passed courses in both, master's and bachelor's studies issued by the respective universities. The list of courses from the bachelor's degree programme must be issued after its completion. If an applicant has already completed also a master's degree, the list of courses must be issued after the graduation. If an applicant is a student of the last year of the respective master's degree, the list of courses must be issued not earlier than 3 months before the date of the entrance exams. The condition for admission to study is in this case the completion of the relevant master's degree including the passing of the final state examination confimed by an officially certified copy of the diploma.

In both cases, list of courses must be submitted in Czech, Slovak or English, or in other languages, after consultation with the Office for International Affairs. In case the applicant has completed or studies a study programme at the Faculty of Informatics MU, the list of courses is not required. Submitted materials are not returned.

An applicant who studies in a bachelor's degree programme at the Faculty of Informatics MU and fulfills the criteria for submitting a request for remission of entrance exams does not have to apply. Remission of the entrance exam will be evaluated automatically on the basis of a properly submitted application for master study. The applicant will be informed about remission of entrance exams electronically.
