Licence Visual Paradigm at FI MU

For modeling software systems using UML and other diagrams, you can use the professional tool Visual Paradigm, which is completely free for academic purposes such as teaching or creating diagrams for final theses.

Installation and usage

• Download and install Visual Paradigm from the Academic Partner Program.
• Follow License Activation Instructions.
• Each time the system is launched, it verifies itself against the license server. Therefore, you must be connected to the Internet during startup.
• The license is tied to a specific version of Visual Paradigm. We update the license approximately once a year. Therefore, if the application offers you an update to a newer version after startup, do not do so if the new version does not match the version listed on the installation page (see the first point).
• Visual Paradigm is also pre-installed on many workstations in FI classrooms.

As an Academic Partner of Visual Paradigm, Masaryk University is issued software tools for educational use, which cover UML, BPMN, Agile story mapping, etc.
