The Red Hat Engineering team is seeking a junior software engineer to develop and maintain SW components of various projects, ranging from platform tools development to involvement in community work on our virtualization tools. In this role, you will act as an independent engineer, but also collaborate and regularly communicate with other team members and upstream developers.

Projects include:

• SPICE (http://www.spice-space.org/)
• libvirt (http://libvirt.org/)
• Copr (http://copr.fedoraproject.org/)
• SW Collections (https://www.softwarecollections.org/en/)
• Fedora.next (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora.next)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain infrastructure of assigned project
• Contribute to the development of new features in assigned project
• Participate in a team effort to improve projects performance
• Be involved and participate in development within the projects open source community
• Quickly learn and become familiar with the projects portfolio
• Participate in researching new solutions

Required skills:

• Solid programming skills in C
• C++, Java, or Python languages are an advantage
• Experience with development on the Linux platform, including common tools and libraries
