MUNI by ALUMNI: Alumni Stories Full of Inspiration
Masaryk University continues to strengthen its ties with its alumni. Now, you can get to know MUNI graduates through a new video series called MUNI by ALUMNI. In these short profiles, alumni from all ten faculties present their career paths, share their study experiences, and offer inspiration to current students. The goal of the project is to motivate both current and future students while showcasing the wide range of career opportunities that MUNI study programs provide.
One of the featured alumni is Jiří Šimša, a graduate of the Faculty of Informatics, who now works as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, focusing on machine learning and artificial intelligence infrastructure – specifically, the Gemini project. In his video, he talks about how studying at MUNI helped shape his career and what values he took away from his studies. His message to current and future students is to find a balance between studying and enjoying the carefree phase of student life. He also encourages students to not be afraid to travel, as it will broaden their horizons.
The "MUNI by ALUMNI" series is available on Masaryk University’s YouTube channel and the alumni website, and the videos will also be gradually shared on the university's social media.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the university to maintain strong connections with alumni through social media, newsletters, Magazín M, and other activities. Alumni also have the opportunity to join the Association of Alumni and Friends of Masaryk University (SAPMU) and enjoy various benefits with the Alumni Card, including discounts on university services, cultural events, and lifelong learning opportunities.
