The 27th edition of the international conference Text, Speech and Dialogue (TSD 2024) will occur from 11 to 13 September 2024 at the Continental Hotel (Brno). This event has become a traditional meeting point for experts and enthusiasts in natural language processing, speech processing and dialogue systems.
Thanks to the cooperation with the conference organizers, the Faculty of Computer Science students and staff have a unique opportunity to participate in this event completely free of charge. Conference program
The conference will run from Wednesday to Friday and will offer a rich program, which is divided as follows:
- In the morning there will be invited speakers sharing their latest research and findings.
- In the morning and afternoon, parallel scientific papers will present the latest research results in text, speech and dialogue processing.
- Wednesday's program will be enriched by a poster session where practical applications and ongoing research will be presented. There will also be a demo session where you can interact with software prototypes and their authors.

The keynote speakers will include two prominent figures in world research:
Hynek Heřmanský (Johns Hopkins University, USA and FIT BUT, Czech Republic) who specializes in speech processing and will focus on the question "Why should we ask why?". This issue touches on a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of different methods in automatic speech recognition.
In his talk, Preslav Nakov (Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Abu Dhabi) will discuss the current challenges associated with the factuality of large language models (LLMs) and how these models can be kept safe and factual.
