The goals of the Teaching Lab define where we are headed as individuals and as a community within the course and beyond. These specific ideas help us to name what is important to all of us in designing teaching at the MU Faculty of Informatics.

Main goals

1. We work to ensure that practitioners enjoy their exercises and have fun learning.
2. We work to make the learning experience as rewarding as possible for the students and to be remembered as excellent.
3. We work to make teaching through a community of practitioners a "killer feature" of FI MU.

Individual goals

What would we like all graduates of the Teaching Lab course to achieve?

1. Graduates of the Teaching Lab can name different phenomena in teaching.
   To be able to think about them and discuss them with others.
2. Teaching Lab graduates know and use different teaching tools appropriately.
   So that they have an arsenal for conducting quality instruction.
3. Teaching Lab graduates know the principles of effective learning and teaching.
   To know how it all works and why they do what they do.
4. Teaching Lab graduates reflect on their teaching, receive feedback on it, and learn.
   So that they can continually improve themselves.
5. Teaching Lab graduates act ethically.
   To be fair, honest and respectful in their teaching and related activities.
6. Teaching Lab graduates see the transcendence of Teaching Lab content beyond the classroom.
   To be able to use the knowledge they have gained after the course or outside of the FI environment.
7. Teaching Lab graduates feel part of the Teaching Lab community.
   To know they are not alone.

What would we like the community around the Teaching Lab course to achieve as a whole?

1. We have common terminology and language.
   So that we can talk about teaching and understand each other.
2. To develop the Teaching Lab course and other activities.
   To help others teach better.
3. We share knowledge, materials and activities.
   So we don't have to reinvent the wheel.
4. We see common and individual goals.
   To know where we are going and where we want to get to.

   To be able to constructively critique and praise each other's work.
