Monika Čechová: How do the worlds of computer scientists and biologists intersect. And what is behind their successful cooperation?
Monika Čechová is a graduate of bioinformatics at #fimuni, from where she continued at Penn State University. She deals with biology and bioinformatics research focusing on topics like sex chromosomes, satellite biology, non-B DNA, or reproductive biology. In her article ′′Ten simple rules for biologists initiating a collaboration with computer scientists ′′ from the PLOS journal, she aptly describes 10 rules for successful cooperation between scientists from the worlds of biology and computer science.
The Bioinformatics specialization at the Faculty of Informatics is intended for students who want to acquire, in addition to the general knowledge of informatics, also the latest knowledge of biology. At the same time, they can participate in research in the Laboratory of Systems Biology (SYBILA).
