As part of the series "Technological February at the Jiří Mahen library in Brno", the library hosted a lecture by Mgr. Jiří Chmelík, Ph.D. from the Department of Visual Computing FI MU, who presented this dynamic industry as a space for art, craft and business.
On January 25 and 26, 2024, we welcomed a visit from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. Specifically, we were visited by Professor Benoit Forget and a Ph.D. student, with whom Associate Professor Zdeněk Matěj (EmLab) and other students established cooperation.
In 2022, we informed you about the Joseph Fourier Prize in the field of Computer Science and Informatics, which was awarded to RNDr. Valdemar Švábenský, Ph.D., from FI MUNI. As the winner, he had the opportunity to spend a month at a French university. On 8 December 2023, the Faculty of Computer Science hosted the first CHESS Industrial Day - a key day for bringing together experts from industry and academia focused on formal methods in software engineering. The programme included presentations on the uses, benefits and limitations of formal methods in practice and tool demonstrations. The event offered a great opportunity to exchange practical experiences with methods and tools for software analysis, verification and testing.
In the spirit of last year's successful slogan, 'The 2nd Best Christmas in the World. Right after yours at home,' TIC BRNO is once again bringing a loaded program for the upcoming Advent. Included is a unique augmented reality (AR) experience, created in collaboration with the creative agency Aetna and the Studio of Graphic Design and Multimedia from the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University. This project represents pioneering technology in the Czech Republic.
