Big Data pose an opportunity and a challenge. The richness of the data allows for new innovative ways to improve our every day’s life, increase efficiency and answer new questions. On the other hand, Big Data requires new approaches to computing, visualization and data analysis along with the development of new tools.
Simon Urbanek will highlight methodologies and tools developed at AT&T Labs in his presentation - Research to tackle the challenges of Big Data. This includes open-source tools such as Nanocubes - interactive visualization of billions of data points and RCloud - collaborative environment for analysis of large data based on R. He will also illustrate the potential of Big Data on practical applications, including how cellular network data has the potential to revolutionize the study of cities and help urban planners.
Event is free of charge.
