Abstract:

The past few years have confirmed the increasing importance of the preservation of the privacy of an individual due to the number of methods by which private information can be misused. At the same time, since vast amounts of data are easily available, data mining is taking on a greater role in the processing thereof, placing techniques that can satisfy strict legal and public requirements on the processing of sensitive data in great demand. This paper presents the state-of-the-art in privacy preserving data mining and also proposes an alternative classification of privacy preserving techniques based on several points of view on privacy.
