WP3 - LMS Enhancements
Analysis of the specification of each of the partners LMS
A strong cooperation between local LMS experts is required in this WP, as the partners have to keep using the LMS picked by their organisation.Design and implementation of a user-friendly upload interface for lecture recordings
- Upload interfaces adapted to the LMS specific content management features;
- Semi-automatic collection of information on the recording (author(s), languages, file size, duration, etc.);
- Publication of the new recording within the content area of the LMS;
Design and implementation of a search engine exploiting SCORM indexing of the recordings
Design and implementation of personalised learning pathways as add-on feature to existing LMS platforms
The aim is to exploit the metadata inserted in the content to help trainers design personalised learning pathways (Entry and assessment Multiple Choice Question).Documentation of all tools and features

To achieve the abovementioned goals, V3 Resource Centre has been established.
Personal Learning Pathways
The V3RC allows users to select their personal learning pathways on AVI files which are supported by a logfile, holding the elapsed time and titles of the AVI sections. Viewing the ID card of a learning resource (AVI file), all the sections of the AVI are listed allowing the user to view the required one. This can be done either in the page of the ID card (works with IE) or in a separate link (all browsers). Examples can be seen in some of the above resources.
Web Services
In order to seemlessly communicate with the different LMS platforms, web services have been developed to cover the V3RC functionality. As a first step the web services allow the search and view of resources in the V3RC, but all the functionality will be covered at a later stage.
