Jozef Gruska Short CV Prof. Jozef Gruska was borned in 1933. He took his PhD from Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, Slovakia. Currently he is with Masaryk University, Czech Republic. He is an expert in Theoretical Informatics (Book "Foundations in computing", US, 730 pages, 1997) and Quantum Information Processing (Book "Quantum computing", UK, 430 pages, 1999). ver 150 publications. At Faculty of Informatics he was the head of several big research projects in years 1998-2011. Currently he is the head of the Graduate study and a special PhD project at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University. He was (has been) member of the scientific board of the Masaryk University - 1998-2011 (Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University -since 1997. Prof. Jozef Gruska has been very active internationally. Founder of five regular international conferences including Asia Quantum Information Science e (Japan, Korea, China), 2001-2010. He gave over 270 talks on international events including two invited talks at the World Computer Congress. The founding head (1989-1996) of the main international committee for theoretical informatics at IFIP (International Federation of Information Processing). He spent 15 years at major universities of Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. Elected member (since 2006) of the Academia Europaea, member of its Informatics Section committee (since 2006) and member of its Council (2007-2010). "Computer pioneer" award of IEEE USA and many other awards and recognitions including Bolzano award of Czech Academy of Sciences and IFIP Silver medal.
