    Summary of Role Purpose

    This role will provide support for IT hardware (Desktops, servers and Laptops), software (MS Office and Inhouse Applications) to all FNZ staff in Brno. The role reports to the Head of Solution Centre Brno, closely cooperates with Infrastructure support team in Edinburgh and HR & Admin team Brno. The role covers solutions of technically oriented tasks and issues related to smooth running of Brno offices.

    Primary Accountabilities

    • Setting up new starts, including assigning laptops and access tokens, showing how remote access works, logging in, and resolving log in issues for new starts.
    • Setting up local printers and other software applications.
    • Ordering, chasing and managing the procurement (via Infrastructure team in Edinburgh, FNZ UK) of the right equipment like switches, power strips, mice, keyboards.
    • Setting up desks and workstations, screens, keyboards, monitors and blackberries.
    • Fixing/replacing anything that breaks, laptops, phones, switches, mice, keyboards, blackberries.
    • Issuing replacements + shipping back broken laptops, phones and blackberries.
    • Organising the equipment hardware store and doing asset management, making sure we have enough equipment for new starts in advance.
    • Advising people on how to set up stuff (printers, web-ex etc.).
    • Maintaining the physical networking including switches and phones.
    • Chasing up with local provider when the internet or phone lines go down.
    • Managing hardware upgrades and other changes requested by the Edinburgh team.
    • Liaising with Desktop Support team in Edinburgh and the building manager when taking on new space for networking requirement.
    • Any other support as required by the Brno HR & Admin team with respect to the running of the office and infra.

    Required Skills
    • University student or graduate in Information Technology, or similar
    • knowledge of Microsoft server & desktop products.
    • Solid understanding of hardware products including servers, PCs, laptops, printers and general network equipment.
    • Customer focused.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Independent, ability to self manage and able to take initiative
    • Time flexibility desirable.

    The role is suitable for a part-time student, expected work commitment minimum 20 hours per week.
