Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) Announced the 17th Public Competition Programme for the Support of Applied Research and Innovation SIGMA – Sub-objective 2: Starting Researchers and Equal Opportunities in Applied Research Projects – Industrial Chairs
Objective of the Competition
The public competition is aimed at supporting the recruitment and long-term retention of internationally recognized experts in applied research at research organizations, in accordance with the conditions of the SIGMA Programme – Sub-objective 2.
The purpose is to promote structural changes in research organizations leading to greater utilization of research results in practice, by funding a team built around a distinguished researcher with international experience and contacts.

Planned total allocation: CZK 500 million

Maximum funding per project: CZK 42 million

Co-financing: Mandatory minimum 40% from other sources

Eligible applicants: research organization (main applicant), company (other participant)

Additional requirements: The project team of the main applicant must include a foreign researcher (Industrial Chair) + at least 3 early-career researchers
