    TACR Prodef – 2nd Public Competition

    The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR), in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, announced on 3 June 2026 the second public competition under the Programme for the Support of Applied Research and Innovation in the Defence Industry (PRODEF), subprogramme 2: National Public Competitions in Defence Research.

    Programme Objective

    The public competition under subprogramme 2 focuses on supporting projects of applied research and innovation in the field of modern emerging and disruptive technologies that can be used to meet the needs of the Czech Armed Forces. The project results are expected to have strong potential for application in a wide range of both civilian and military domains (so-called dual-use applications).

    Priority Research Areas

    • Digital command, control, and decision-making based on data
    • Unmanned platforms and autonomous systems
    • Protection of forces against unmanned systems
    • Energy management and alternative mobility of military systems
    • Information resilience of the armed forces
    • Effective collaboration between soldiers and technological systems, including technology-supported perception and decision-making

    Basic Information

    • Call announcement date: 3 June 2026
    • Competition period: 4 June 2026 – 22 July 2026
    • Announcement of results: 31 January 2027
    • Project start date: no earlier than January 2027, no later than March 2027
    • Project duration: minimum 12 months, maximum 36 months
    • Latest project completion date: February 2030
    • Eligible Applicants: Enterprises (small, medium, or large) acting as either the main applicant or additional participant, Research organisations acting as either the main applicant or additional participant
    • Total indicative budget for the call: CZK 900 million
    • Maximum funding per project: CZK 50 million
    • Maximum funding intensity per project: 70%
    • Additional Conditions: Each project proposal must include an attachment describing the involvement of the application guarantor (Ministry of Defence) in the project design, and its role in ensuring the applicability of the project results
    • Deadline for Submitting Requests for Application Guarantorship: Requests must be submitted by 30 June 2026 via email to michal.zatloukal@mo.gov.cz, imrich.luky@mo.gov.cz
