GA CR: Call for EXPRO and Junior Star project proposals
The Czech Science Foundation (GACR) announces calls for project proposals for the EXPRO and JUNIOR STAR tenders. The submission deadline for project proposals is 20 April 2026. Project proposals are submitted via the new GRITA system. Final project proposals are not sent via the data box, but are confirmed in the GRITA application itself by the governing body of the applying institution. The delegation of this task to the members of the FI Research and Project Support Department is already underway.
The EXPRO tender, re‑launched after a one‑year break, is intended for experienced researchers. A number of selected principal investigators and their teams will have the opportunity to carry out a five‑year project with support of up to CZK 50 million.
The JUNIOR STAR tender is intended for excellent early‑career researchers (within 8 years of obtaining a Ph.D.) from all fields of basic research who have already published in prestigious international journals and have significant international experience. The aim of the five‑year projects, with a total budget of up to CZK 25 million, is to provide the principal investigator with an opportunity to become scientifically independent, including the potential establishment of their own research group that will bring new research topics into Czech science.
Important dates:
- The deadline for submitting the application for ethical review is March 30, at 5:00pm.
- Internal deadline to hand in proposals at FI is April 15, 2026 at 9:00am.
- The deadline for submitting the proposals is April 20, 2026.
