Bioinformatics workshop – Genome assembly
Join us for the Bioinformatics workshop designed to offer hands-on experience in analyzing modern genomics data. It is open to a broad scientific community, including non-academics.
Various topics are covered throughout the year. The topic for the session on February 2nd is "Genome assembly".
🗓️ 2 February 2026 | 8:30–12:30
📍 A219, Faculty of Informatics MU
💰 1000 CZK
The basic knowledge of bioinformatics, command line, and linux environment is required for all participants. The number of participants is limited to 15.
The workshop will cover:
- data types required for telomere-to-telomere (T2T) assembly of complete chromosomes,
- algorithms optimized for diploid genome assembly,
- quality control of genome assemblies,
- working with haplotype-resolved assemblies,
- considerations for human genomics versus non-model organisms,
- a Q&A session addressing participants’ questions.
Register by 29 January 2026.
