Cooperation with IT companies has a clear structure at the Faculty of Informatics of MU: there is an Association of Industrial Partners (SPP), which is a platform for establishing cooperation with specific companies where there is a common interest or where companies have been cooperating with the faculty for a long time.

This is not just a theoretical partnership: cooperation with industry can, for example, also focus on smaller development projects that you can elaborate in your thesis while an employee of the company is your consultant. Personal contact with companies has a regular format at FI MU: Days with industrial partners are a regular meeting of students, academics and company representatives. These meetings consist of a short introduction of the companies involved and subsequent individual discussions at the companies' stands. You can thus discuss cooperation opportunities, thesis topics or work placement opportunities directly on site.

Internships are a full part of your studies at FI MU, not just something extra. In selected, professional degree programmes, you have a compulsory one-semester internship at a company, and the internship is appropriately credit-bearing, so you don't have to take a large number of additional courses during the internship. You choose the company for your internship, so you are not limited to companies that are part of the faculty CAP. While internships across degree programs vary in the recommended job roles, they are otherwise uniform: total hours worked, forms of collaboration allowed, and administrative steps required before, during, and after the internship.

Science and practice meet in other ways at FI: each year, SPP holds the Talent@FI competition, where finalists apply for paid research assistant positions in FI laboratories. The faculty campus also includes the CERIT I science and technology park, where selected companies from SPP have their headquarters or branches. Thus, you can literally go from work to study in slippers.
