Eisenhower Fellowships invites applications of prospective Czech Fellows for 2007 who will be invited to spend eight weeks (March -- May 2007) in the U.S.A. as a participant of the Multi Nation Program where he or she pursues an individualized program of visits with leaders in his or her profession which is specifically tailored to the Fellow's interest. A Fellow's spouse is invited and may also pursue an individual professional program if desired.

The goals for the Fellows are: specific insights and contacts in their professional field, and a broad experience of the traditional strength of America's political system - private enterprise, local initiative, individual freedom. Americans who meet the Fellow gain a valuable international perspective on their fields and operations.

EF invites to apply men and women in mid-career (preferred age 35-45) who already demonstrated outstanding achievements, leaders in fields to be paramount to future development of the Czech Republic, and individuals who can be expected to achieve even higher levels of responsibility upon their return home from their Fellowship.

Fellowships are not awarded for academic study, scientific research, private business, or fundraising purposes; they are intended for professional broadening, leadership growth, and network development.

Among the 1500 Fellows worldwide, there have been four heads of governments and more than hundred appointments at cabinet level or above, fellows have become ambassadors, national legislators, university rectors, supreme court justices and governors. They head corporations, foundations and non-profit organizations.

Candidates must complete, in English, a list of detailed questions on the application form available electronically at Eisenhower Fellowships application web site. Please contact the executive chair of the Nominating Committee at zlatuska@muni.cz before May 15 in order to obtain the code needed for entering your application data which needs to be filled in by May 20, 2006. Please include "EF 2007" into the Subject field of every e-mail message which is related to this call.

In case you have problems with the electronic form of application, you can print out three pages of the application form from here and either print out the form and fill the required pieced of information into it, or to fill in the fields electronically using Adobe Acrobat and to print the forms out together with your data. In either case you will need Adobe Acrobar Reader which can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website.
