Equipment of the lab

There are some interesting devices in our laboratory which we would like to present, so here it is. Devices are divided into categories according to their usage.

Biometrics

  • Bioscrypt V-Pass FX
    Bioscrypt V-Pass FX
The V-Pass FX is biometric reader for physical access to facilities, eliminating the need for PINs or keys to gain access to secure areas. V-Pass FX finger-scan reader provides flexible security options: finger only security in 1:N mode or dual-factor authentication in 1:1 mode with an external Wiegand reader.
  • Bioscrypt V-Prox
The V-Prox leverages finger scan verification and proximity card reader technology to prevent unauthorized access. The reader matches the finger-scan of the person seeking entry to the identity of the card-holder. This dual factor solution combines a self-contained finger-scan verification module and an HID proximity reader.
  • Bioscrypt V-Smart
    Bioscrypt V-Smart
V-Smart, two-in-one reader, combines the high security of finger scan matching technology with support for MIFARE, iCLASS and DESFire contactless smart cards. Offering one-to-one biometric template authentication, the V-Smart reader provides traditional access control, fast throughput and individual privacy.
  • Microsoft Fingerprint Reader
    Microsoft Fingerprint Reader
Microsoft Fingerprint Reader is basic (understand entry-level or low-cost) type of fingerprint reader. It could be useful in an office or campus environment, where its use may prevent others from seeing logins and passwords being keyed in. It could also be useful on shared computers, where different users can authenticate their unique access to applications and sites.
  • Creative WebCam Live! Motion
    Creative WebCam Live! Motion
In laboratory environment webcameras are being used to face recognition, which could be useful in multifactor authentication.

Security

  • SafeNet (Eracom) ProtectServer Orange HSM
    SafeNet (Eracom) ProtectServer Orange HSM
ProtectServer Orange is a FIPS 140-1 level 3 certified PCI adapter based HSM (Hardware Security Module) that you can install in server systems as a cryptographic subsystem to perform symmetric and asymmetric cryptography. All cryptographic operations that would otherwise be performed on the insecure server are processed within the physically secure HSM - ensuring sensitive keys are always protected from compromise.
ProtectServer Orange is typically employed to provide cryptographic services such as user and data authentication, message integrity, high-speed encryption, secure key storage and key management for e-Commerce, PKI applications and financial EFT transactions.
  • Trusted Platform Module
    Trusted Platform Module
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a microcontroller that stores keys, passwords and digital certificates. It typically is affixed to the motherboard of a PC. This silicon ensures that the information stored there is made more secure from external software attack and physical theft. Security processes, such as digital signature and key exchange, are protected through the secure TCG subsystem. Access to data and secrets in a platform could be denied if the boot sequence is not as expected. Critical applications and capabilities such as secure email, secure web access and local protection of data are thereby made much more secure.
