|1st Doctoral Workshop on Mathematical and Engineering Methods in Computer Science|
To provide a forum for doctoral and graduated students interested in applications of mathematical and engineering methods in computer science. Undergraduate students interested in conducting their PhD studies in Brno are encouraged to participate.
Submissions are sought especially in the following areas: parallel and distributed computing, GRID computing, models and techniques for formal verification, theory of formal languages, quantum computing, advanced issues in digital data processing. The workshop is open also to submissions in different areas.
The MEMICS 2005 workshop is organized jointly by the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University in Brno www.fi.muni.cz, and the Faculty of Information Technologies, Brno University of Technology www.fit.vutbr.cz. The workshop will be held in Znojmo, a small town near the Austrian border which is famous for its traditional vineyards. There are many tourist attractions in the city, including a large system of underground passages whose total length exceeds 25 km.
Invited talks will be delivered by prominent specialists. The programme also includes a special session devoted to presentations of recent results achieved by PhD students which have been (or will be) presented at leading computer science conferences.
