You can find some webpages containing useful games for teaching English. Some of the interactive games are excellent also for after school activities, English clubs etc.

  • New Headway

    This is a suitable page for the teachers who use The New Headway but it can be used by other teachers as well. You can choose the level by clicking on the books appearing on the screen. You will have to log in but it is free and easy. The games are interactive, downloading them is fast.

    This is a page where you can find 132 games collected by teachers all over the world. It is well organized ? you can choose from two lists of games – either in order of submission (the most recent submission is on top) and the same page in alphabetical order. The description are short and easy, you will find the level there. If you know a game that is not yet listed, you can submit it.

    Free flash games for students – grammar games, vocabulary games and phonic programs. You can play basketball, golf etc. The choice is quite limited but students like these interactivities a lot. You will need a projector or go to a language lab.

    These sites contain excellent resources for teachers. The author created several card sets and nice board games for students. You will find detailed information about each game. To prepare a lesson with these games is elaborate but it worths doing. You will need the Acrobat Reader.
