  This is a fill-in-the-blank interactive web site that guides teachers through picking a topic, searching the Web, gathering good Internet sites, and turning Web resources into learning activities.

• Compleat Lexical Tutor

  The CLT is a complex website created by Tom Cobb from the Université du Québec, Montréal. It contains a large number of resources for studying and testing yourself (column one), for researching language (column two), and for teachers to create interactive online resources for their students (column three). • Quizstar

  This online service is one of many from 4teachers.org. For teachers using Nicenet as their LMS, this is a useful complement for generating quizzes and tests and maintaining a grade book. Like all such tools, it is under continuous development and, the new license makes it no longer free to users outside the USA. Pricing is available here.

  This tool enables pairs or groups of users to work on line co-writing and editing text.

• Google Docs & Spreadsheets

  The program, formerly known as Writely, is now a&Google tool. It enables pairs or groups of users to work on line co-writing and editing text, and spreadsheets. To familiarize yourself with it, click on Take a tour, on its homepage. It has great potential for collaborative writing activities in ELT, including webquest activities as well as blogging.

• Bootcat

  This tool allows you to make your own small corpus on the fly. Very useful for creating teaching resources on specific topics.

• Metatrans

  A dictionary tool that crawls many online dictionaries at the same time and presents a list of meanings, phrases, etc.

• Yahoo Briefcase

  Free webspace where you can upload documents. An alternative to carrying documents on portable memory devices.

• Visual Thesarus

  This is the demo site of this much-loved program. You can see the results of some exquisite programming. The software is not expensive. Click the green tab "Educators", to download whole books of teaching material.
